Alan Wood & Partners

Alan Wood & Partners, civil and structural consulting engineers, provide a reliable service for the full range of civil and structural engineering for building projects. The company was founded in Hull in 1968 and with the head office remaining in Hull, and branch offices in Scarborough, York and Louth, the company has made a major contribution to the development of the Hull area over four decades.

Chris Medlin, managing director of Alan Wood & Partners, said: "Inclusion within the Hull Esteem Consortium would provide the opportunity for Alan Wood & Partners to continue their tradition of providing this major contribution to the people and quality of life in Hull.

"We have worked on a large number of projects in Hull, including Humber Quays, King William House, Portcullis House (BBC offices), LPT police stations, projects on all the industrial estates in the city and for all the major companies in the city.

"In addition to providing an efficient and modern structural design for the proposed schools, Alan Wood & Partners offer the support services of topographic surveys, flood risk assessments, building surveying, road design and drainage design.

"Clients in the education field in the Hull area, for which Alan Wood & Partners have recently completed commissions, include Wyke College, Hull College, Bishop Burton College and Hull University. Current education projects are also progressing in North Lincolnshire, York, London, Birmingham, South Yorkshire and at York University.

"To ensure a comprehensive and quality service, Alan Wood & Partners place the emphasis on employment on a full time permanent basis rather than using temporary contract staff. Inclusion within a programme such as Building Schools for the Future provides the opportunity for recruiting additional full time permanent employees from the Hull area."
