CR Reynolds is a civil engineering construction company based in Melton, East Yorkshire. CR Reynolds was formed in 1983 and has since successfully completed over 500 individual schemes ranging in value from £10,000 up to £5.5m. CR Reynolds carries out specialist civil engineering projects for a wide range of clients on a repeat basis such as bridge construction and refurbishment schemes, commercial building, highway construction and 278 works, reinforced concrete structures and large-scale infrastructure.
James Kitchen, director of CR Reynolds, said: "Being involved with the Hull Esteem BSF scheme is very important to CR Reynolds as the projects are being constructed within the local area. This is an ideal opportunity for CR Reynolds to increase our workforce, which is already local people in the majority; and will enable them to work on local flagship schemes. The BSF schemes will provide a forum for local people to approach us for employment opportunities within our organisation.
"These BSF schemes are an ideal opportunity for CR Reynolds to demonstrate our capability and commitment to local business's, suppliers, the local economy and the local community by being involved in the construction of high profile schemes which will be around for a long time to come.
"CR Reynolds aims to bring the benefit of our experience to the Hull BSF schemes. This is hoped to be in the form of early contractor involvement, helping us to understand the needs and goals of the client, and introduce our innovative construction techniques and working practices.
"Although we currently have yet to be engaged in the BSF schemes, we have extensive experience carrying out infrastructure schemes on large scales. We recently carried out the £5.5m infrastructure works for the Trinity Walk retail development in Wakefield, as well as the £2.6m construction of a 5500m² sub-ground car parking facility in York and the £1.7m reconstruction of a grade 2 listed masonry bridge structure in West Yorkshire.
"We are committed to employing apprentices in each area of our business. Training individuals in the CR Reynolds culture and providing them with the skills and qualifications required to work within the industry has benefited the company, both financially and technically with the level of individuals produced. We would welcome the opportunity to work within the Hull BSF schemes and provide further opportunities for apprenticeships in the trades and Civil engineering field.
"Being given the chance to work within the esteem BSF contracts would provide us with a valuable opportunity within the local area and enable us to move forward with other BSF works. This would be with the intention of using both the contacts and workforce achieved through being part of the Hull BSF schemes.
"Working with Hull Esteem Consortium would widen our company profile as a whole and open up different avenues of construction work for us to follow in the future, in turn enabling us to continue our support and commitment to the local economy and community."
