HD Decorating Services was incorporated in 2003 on the back of the successful partnership of its two directors, Ian Hesketh and John Dickinson. Ian and John shared the same vision of growth, based first and foremost on customer satisfaction. Now operating both locally and nationally as a commercial contract and private decorating company, HD Decorating Services is looking to work on the Hull Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme for Hull Esteem Consortium.
From the company's base in Hessle in the East Riding of Yorkshire, HD Decorating Services is well suited for access to all areas. With a strong emphasis on customer care and satisfaction, beyond just 'doing the job', the team strives to provide the service that its customers deserve.
Ian Hesketh, director at HD Decorating Services, said: "If we were to join up with the Hull BSF programme, the main benefits would be to allow our locally employed workforce to continue to work on this project, and many others, in the Hull area. Short term, it would allow us to provide job stability, whereas long term, it would give more credibility and experience to the company as a whole, allowing us to grow.
"Three school leavers have been with us in recent years, achieving NVQ Levels 2 and 3, with another having just joined the company. These youngsters have an active role in HDDSs workforce, and we are hoping to continue with this if we were to win a contract with Hull Esteem Consortium.
"HD Decorating Services is committed to training, both in-house and outsourced, training staff with asbestos, PASMA and MEWPS, which enables us to fulfil our customer's requirements on a range of projects.
"We have been partnering with Kier on Hull's Decent Homes project since 2006-7, as well as working for a number of clients, including Hobson & Porter and Houlton. HD Decorating Services also works for most local authorities, including East Riding of Yorkshire County Council, with whom we have just completed pre-paint joinery and external painting for 1100 council houses in 2010."
