The company carries out both private and residential work for its clients, having successfully provided its specialist services to the construction of a number of landmark buildings in the area. The reputation that Hodgson Plastering has developed as a result, as well as the knowledge and experience gained from the projects, will serve the company well as it looks to be awarded a contract to join with Hull Esteem Consortium's supply chain as the construction of 17 new schools in the city gets underway.
Lee Wilson, quantity surveyor at Hodgson Plastering, said: "In a shrinking market, a project the size of the Hull BSF will provide a level of investment that can provide stability, security and the potential for growth for companies across the city.
"Hodgson Plastering is a specialist construction finishing company, specialising in rendering, plastering and floor screed. We have worked on the BSF project in Scunthorpe, as well as numerous other education projects, which will allow us to bring plenty of experience to the table.
"Once we have assessed the workload that would be involved in being a part of Hull Esteem Consortium's supply chain, we would look to recruit staff to assist with the project. As the industry is very much based on supply and demand, our interest is always on recruiting, so this project will allow us to do so ? and part of our recruitment will involve apprenticeships, to give the young people of the city a chance to join the industry.
"We are keen to secure local work, predominantly focused on the Hull area, but we also carry out work for clients throughout Yorkshire. On every project we carry out, we are learning and adding to our expertise, and the Hull BSF project will allow us to increase our business workload and work closely with the main contractors, with the intention of building a working relationship for years to come."
