IT@Spectrum

IT@Spectrum is a Hull-based company which specialises in providing products and services to enable its clients to produce top quality documents. It offers a range of office technology which helps organisations across the region produce, manage and distribute their documents in cost effective, efficient and sustainable ways.

With experience of working with more than 100 education establishments across several local authorities in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, IT@Spectrum has been instrumental in developing print and document strategies with secondary schools, academies and colleges, as well as commercial clients. The company also provides the Hull Esteem Consortium office and studio with their copying, printing and scanning requirements.

Ken Sturdy, managing director of IT@Spectrum, said: "Being involved with the Hull Esteem Consortium has been very motivating for our team, knowing they are working on the regeneration of our city, and playing a part in the shaping of our future workforce. Most of our staff went to school in Hull, and several projects we have worked on have involved an ex-pupil at some stage, which has added an extra dimension to their work.

"We are working closely with several of the schools, alongside the IT service provider, to supply a managed print service, whereby the school has state of the art facilities to copy, print and scan documents in a tightly controlled environment. We are also working with schools to ensure that when they move to their new building, they do not simply box up and move all of their paper documents from the old site to the new, but that they work prior to the move on rationalising, organising and digitising documents so that their new school is a 'paper light' environment.

"We continue to employ local people, provide work placements for students and teaching staff, and are actively involved in helping develop the city's future workforce through our education links activities with the Humber EBP and the Institute of Directors, as well as working on specific projects with individual schools.

"Our business continues to thrive in these uncertain economic times, and projects such as the Hull BSF work help us to sustain the business, and provide our workforce with a stable, secure and stimulating environment which keeps them in the area and in turn ensures they contribute back to the local economy."
