Lazaat is a hotel based on the outskirts of Hull, between Beverley and Cottingham. The company prides itself on being the quirky alternative to the many chain hotels that crowd the city centre, and offer a unique experience in terms of accommodation, food and service.
Now eight years old, Lazaat was opened after a gap in the market for innovative and creative hotel design was recognised by Naveed Choudry. Naveed comes from a pharmaceutical background, and approached the opportunity with a fresh perspective.
The name 'Lazaat' refers to an experience that stimulates the sense, originating from the Persian and Urdu languages. The business believes it delivers an atypical approach to delivering business. It provides a non-corporate view to conferences and delivers a much more relaxed feel to its endeavours. Lazaat provides space for events ranging from small business conferences in a suitable environment to large-scale celebrations, including weddings, charity dinners, business launch parties and media events, all ranging from 10-300 guests.
Lazaat worked with Hull Esteem Consortium to deliver their Autumnal Ball in October 2011. The two organisations worked together to establish the requirements that led to the successful evening, and established another business relationship within the local setting, something which the BSF programme is all about.
Hull Esteem Consortium's event was managed by Lazaat from start to finish. All aspects of the evening were taken care of, including first-class waiting service on arrival. The event catered for 230 people and was held in the hotel's purpose-built permanent marquee, which is decorated to a high-spec level and is designed to create a 'wow' factor at first sight.
Managing Director of Lazaat, Naveed, said: "We were delighted to be able to host the Autumnal Ball for Hull Esteem Consortium. Our location meant we could offer the formal and luxurious status of an event without compromising on size, while keeping in line with the organisation's mission to use local businesses as part of the work for the BSF."
