Lightowler

As an experienced and well-renowned contract cleaning company, Hull-based Lightowler are a national operator with experience in all aspects of commercial cleaning, from daily cleaning at businesses to builders clean services at sites. With over five decades of experience in the business, Lightowler remains at the forefront of the cleaning industry, a service they are looking to provide to Hull Esteem Consortium as the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project takes shape in the city.

Employing over 400 staff, the company has the skills and manpower to undertake work for clients across the country, delivering a high-quality service from its head office in Hull, as well as offices in Scunthorpe and Sheffield. Through operating to the highest industry standards, Lightowler's exceptional team provide a high standard of work to its customers, valuing every individual client and ensuring that the service provided meets the high standards that Lightowler have built a reputation for achieving.

Peter Dorsett, director at Lightowler, said: "Keeping a project like the Hull BSF as local as possible is extremely important, I think it is the way it should be everywhere. For a project to be as successful as possible, not only in terms of the actual project but the impact on a community, using local business should be a necessity. It will keep costs down and ensure that the money will remain in the city. After the recession, investment is much needed in Hull, and this will provide substantial investment to the businesses in the city.

"Our cleaning and painting services have seen Lightowler work on most of Hull's schools and a number of schools throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire area. This experience in the education sector has enabled us to develop a tried and tested system for similar projects, which we will be able to transfer across to any contracts we may be given on the Hull BSF.

"Any workload increase would certainly allow us to recruit more people, which we are very keen to do. This recruitment would allow us to take on apprentices from Cityworks, who we have already spoken to regarding our intentions. Lightowler commits to a large percentage of Hull-based employees, and on any project we work on we involve local people, not just to minimise costs but because of the local knowledge and interests that those individuals have."
