Prodar Surveys

With a wealth of experience in the construction, power and industrial sectors, and an ability to provide high quality information to its clients, Prodar Surveys enables customers to manage underground hazards such as cables, pipes and other services/apparatus.

The Hull-based company provides a national service to architects, consultants, contractors and local authorities for both capital projects and maintenance operations. And as Hull Esteem Consortium looks towards the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project, Prodar Surveys is gearing up towards becoming part of the Consortium?s supply chain for the project.

Andrew Gaines, project manager at Prodar Surveys, said: "There's an old adage that business should be local and finance should be global, so for Hull Esteem Consortium to be thinking locally when it comes to the supply chain for the BSF project is incredibly important. It's a massive scheme with the potential to be hugely beneficial to the area and by using local suppliers the monies turned over should feed through into each company's individual supply chain, creating a ripple effect throughout the city.

"Education is such an important part of life and the building of new schools will provide the city with some great new facilities. The schools will be the envy of many cities in the country and by investing in the future like this, it will give Hull the chance to sow many seeds for the benefit of both communities and businesses.

"As utility mapping surveyors, we carry out surveys on construction sites, to detect and trace buried services identifying potential issues and hazards. Our services are typically used at the beginning of projects during the planning and design stages providing important information relating to the safe and reliable delivery of works. The nature of our business is such that were we to expand our workload by taking on a large contract with Hull Esteem Consortium, we may be able to recruit extra staff to help us manage more efficiently.

"Prodar Surveys have done a lot of work in the south east, Scotland and all throughout the UK, so to be involved on a project of such significance in our home city will allow us to further enhance our reputation in Hull and give something back to the local area, particularly given the nature of the project."
