Salt Architects are a company that is committed to working towards the development of an enhanced environment for all. Founded in 1998 in Beverley, Salt Architects is comprised of a dedicated team of architects who are passionate about their field of work. As Hull begins to be transformed by the Building Schools for the Future project, the HU postcode company are actively preparing to be a part of the exciting developments that will take place over the coming years in the city.
With experience across a wide range of sectors, of which education is one, Salt Architects has proved to be capable of delivering contemporary architecture to a client base that spans the whole of the UK. With the work that Hull Esteem Consortium are undertaking being on their doorstep, the local architects are looking to use their experience, and the similarities between the projects they have worked on already, to aid their chances of working on Building Schools for the Future.
Mark Williams, an associate of Salt Architects, said: "For the local identity of the city and the surrounding area, the use of businesses in the Hull area is very important, and it will have a big impact on the economy of the local community.
"At Salt Architects, we've always been involved in the Yorkshire area, particularly in Hull. This local and regional coverage was a key reason why we saw the Hull Building School's for the Future project as one that we wanted to be a part of, as it gave us the ideal chance to work in Hull.
"We've been keeping an eye on the programme and we are keen to understand how a company of our size could be involved. It's a big scheme so it could be an opportunity for us, and from an early stage we identified this as something that was an option for us to add to our projects, and we think that a potential contract with the Hull Esteem Consortium BSF would compliment our existing work.
"Through conversations with people at Hull Esteem Consortium about the SEN Centre of the sample schemes, we were able to recognise similarities with previous projects that we worked on, in particular our SureStart Centre in Hull. With Building Schools for the Future being on our doorstep, we are keen to use experience from previous clients we have worked with locally.
"There is also the potential for recruitment to be a part of the plans we would put in place for the project, and we would look to extend this out to offering student placements, to give the opportunity for young students to get a taste of the industry"
