Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) is the largest independent laboratory supplier in the UK. The company has decades of experience in the laboratory industry, providing customers with an efficient and flexible approach, based on choice and customer service. SLS also use extensive knowledge and relationships to manage the supply chain, bringing the right products to customers at the right time and price.
The company has grown from its start to become the largest British supplier of scientific products operating globally in numerous scientific markets, and has recently dedicated a new division to secondary education. SLS has always done business with schools but, being an industrial supplier, there needed to be a more dedicated focus to this particular market. Therefore, just over a year ago, the company launched SLS Select Education to specifically address this customer market.
Equipment is the heart of every science laboratory, and recognising this has enabled SLS Select Education to gain considerable experience of equipping laboratories around the world, by putting together a unique package with an efficient cost-effective fit-out service from concept to completion.
Joshua Chapman, education business manager for SLS, said: “It is of particular interest to us to look to provide the equipment needed to supply schools with the right equipment to teach 21st century science at affordable prices. It would mean a lot more to provide this to the local community, which is why we want to be involved with the BSF programme, to provide the equipment needed in the new laboratories or offer help with our lab refurbishment programme.
"By working with architects and designers, SLS Select Education provides laboratory layouts that are relevant to the national curriculum which comply with all necessary legislation and health & safety requirements.
"Because of our new division and set up, we have never been involved in the BSF programme as yet. However, with a full range of world-leading products, we could offer Hull Esteem Consortium the complete package to finalise the laboratories. As a company, we have been involved in the production of laboratories from the concept stage up until completion, working closely alongside architects.
