Sutcliffe Consulting Engineers was formed in January 2000 and transformed to a limited company in February 2001. The Consultancy specialises in Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering, and has significant expertise in the design and supervision of building services required within the education sector amongst many others. Having developed a reputation for providing a proactive personal service, meeting the demands of it clients with responsive yet innovative solutions, Sutcliffe Consulting Engineers is now looking to join the supply chain of the Hull Esteem Consortium for the Hull BSF programme.
Established with the aim of providing its clients with a consultancy service second to none, Sutcliffe Consulting Engineers provide a fully integrated design and project management service encompassing all areas of building services. The company has successfully completed a diverse range of projects and commissions for many of the UK's leading companies and organisations, and a commitment to quality and client satisfaction has been proven with repeat business from many clients.
Steve Sutcliffe, managing director of Sutcliffe Consulting Engineers, said: "Being involved with the Hull Esteem Consortium would mark a very important step in the company's development, allowing the company to expand and employ a greater number of staff. Any BSF projects undertaken would make a valuable addition to our already diverse project portfolio.
"We feel we could bring a valuable contribution to the BSF design teams by providing mechanical and electrical design and supervision, services which are at the core of our business. We can also provide the required support for meeting the building regulation requirements such as Part L2A Compliance Checks (SBEM Calculations) as required for all new commercial buildings and Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's).
"We employ qualified engineers from technician grade through to chartered engineers, ensuring that the necessary staff resources are available to satisfy all our client's requirements. All staff are encouraged to progress and develop their own careers through project experience, training, continuing professional development (CPD) and studying for further qualifications, ultimately presenting all staff with the opportunity to work towards CIBSE Chartership Status.
"We have significant experience within the education sector, including undertaking projects for Bishop Burton College, Yorkshire Coast College, Hull Collegiate School Tranby Croft, The University of Hull, The Diocese of York & Middlesbrough and a large number of new build and refurbishment schemes for schools on behalf of North Lincolnshire Council. The values of the projects worked on range from a £500 report up to a £25m scheme with an M&E value of £5m.
"At Sutcliffe Consulting Engineers, we are always looking to the future and at how we can improve and grow as a company. Being involved with the Hull Esteem Consortium would allow us to employ additional members of staff in order to complete the projects on time. Our philosophy in general is to offer opportunities to younger people interested in building services and offer training to bring them eventually up to chartered engineer status, thereby creating the next generation of qualified engineers within the local area.
Being involved in the BSF programme would provide Sutcliffe Consulting Engineers with the ability to progress and grow over the next few years, increasing our annual turnover despite the recession. This is a fabulous opportunity for our company to be involved in some flagship projects within the local area. The long-term effects of this would be the ability to boost our reputation, providing us with new key contacts for future work and potentially lead on to further schemes.
