Yorkshire Groundworks Solutions is a sub-contractor that offers a wide range of groundworks and civil engineering services for major contractors or private clients. The company has proven experience in both the public and private sector, including work carried out on a number of schools and education institutions - a key reason as to why the company is actively hoping to become involved with the Hull Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project.
The team at Yorkshire Groundworks Solutions consists of fully trained, qualified and experienced people, with a clear passion for the work they carry out. Based in Hull, the company operates throughout the whole of Yorkshire, delivering projects of all sizes and specifications with an attention to detail and a guarantee of total satisfaction. Now turning its attention to joining in partnership with Hull Esteem Consortium, the company is looking to use its experience in the education sector on a project in its home city.
Darren Sullivan, managing director at Yorkshire Groundworks Solutions, said: "With the project looking to make a big difference to Hull, it is extremely important that the money remains in the city. As a company, we have been involved with a number of education projects, and we have seen how much the building of new schools makes a difference to the children; they really enjoy attending school in new developments like this.
"By keeping everything in Hull, and getting the people of the city to work for the city, businesses will feel the knock on effects through the use of local labour and with the money being invested inside of HU postcode areas. It will result in an upturn in work for the city, and it is important that we do everything we can to make sure this upturn continues.
"As a company with expertise in all types of groundworks, including foundations, drainage and laying roads and paving, we are able to draw on a number of successful projects, including education projects, to enable us to successfully develop a plan for the Hull BSF workload.
"We have completed projects at Wyke College, as well as plenty of schools throughout Hull, Leeds and the rest of the Yorkshire area, and through these projects we have learnt to understand the importance of employing the right people to work on education projects. We will be able to transfer this experience across to a possible contract to work on the Hull BSF."
