Local people serving local people, serving local people...

Working together with Hull City Council through the BSF programme, we plan to create educational transformation across Hull, making the city a home for teaching talent and a place where teachers are valued. The project will provide teachers with a test bed for new and highly creative thinking, along with the latest technology and an environment for continual support and development of teaching and learning approach.

The new buildings will create a communitywide culture of learning, sending positive messages about education, thus increasing children’s skill levels and self confidence and improving performance city-wide.

Aside from looking after the future of Hull’s children, we are also concerned with the wider Hull community and the local economy. The BSF programme is the largest ever contract awarded by Hull City Council and we are keen to share the benefits locally, maximising spend with local companies and encouraging our supply chain to invest in skills and training for the city’s future. We plan to target 90% of HU postcodes across the on-site workforce and achieve a multiplier effect of two to maximise spend in the city, bringing economic reward as well as educational reform.

On top of this, we plan to generate at least 210 modern apprenticeships and create opportunities for young people, as well as teaching and learning professionals to engage with the business sector. As a committed partner and investor in the city, we are also keen to ensure that Hull remains healthy in the long-term and as such we plan to address current economic uncertainties by directly employing apprentices and long-term unemployed residents.

We will optimise local skills and business through the Esteem Build Framework, whilst ensuring that Hull’s BSF programme is delivered on time and to the highest quality. Community-wide engagement throughout the delivery process will be of the utmost importance, including exercises such as creating a Building Awareness programme to support site visits, workshops and job swaps and providing work experience across the supply chain for every Hull pupil.
