Health and Safety

Hull Esteem Consortium is committed to delivering a programme that, as well as being successful and impacting the local community, strives to do so in a way that acts in the best interests of everyone concerned. As part of this, we ensure that each project is carried out in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

The scheme is in place to improve the image of the construction industry, encouraging it to conform with specific procedures to work towards best practice within a company or on a site. As far as we are concerned, it is of the upmost importance that each site that will form the Hull Building Schools for the Future programme is as focused as possible on Considerate Constructors, because the benefits are clear to see.

The three main categories that the focus on the construction industry's operations are split into are the environment, the workforce and the general public.

Environment
Companies should make a concerted effort to reduce any possible impact that the construction may have on their surroundings, by working in an environmentally considerate manner.

Workforce
Companies should provide a working environment that is clean and appropriate for all staff. This should include the correct facilities that are required, to a standard that is acceptable.

General Public
Companies should consider not only the surrounding environment, but also the people who live or work nearby the construction site. It is important to leave a positive impression on those affected, whilst ensuring that there are no negative impacts or problems caused by the work.

Hull Esteem Consortium, as a member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, is dedicated to meeting these requirements, and we are confident that every construction site that we work on will result in a positive impact upon all aspects of the local community, including the people who live and work nearby, as well as the HU postcode employees who will work on the site.
