Education is at the heart of Hull Esteem Consortium, and the Hull Building Schools for the Future programme will deliver a transformation of schools to the city. Through a focus on changing the beliefs, attitudes and behaviour, the plans we have for Hull will improve lives and create an ambitious and thriving environment for the children of today and tomorrow.
Hull is in need of change to its schools estate, to create a brand new model of education in the city. This change must be major - to re-imagine how education should be in Hull and to encourage a new set of beliefs, values and ideas for teachers and schools to commence a new era of learning in the city.
Working together with Hull City Council through the BSF programme, we plan to create educational transformation across Hull, making the city a home for teaching talent and a place where teachers are valued. The project will provide teachers with a test bed for new and highly creative thinking, along with the latest technology and an environment for continual support and development of teaching and learning approach.
The schools will help the best teaching talent in the city to raise standards and results, becoming role models for pupils in the process. Teachers and pupils will be persuaded, through the world-class facilities, to remain in Hull and develop both individually and, particularly where the teachers and staff are concerned, to develop the talent in the city as a whole.
Hull Esteem Consortium is not working for the city - it is our desire to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Hull to work with the city, to support the transformation and change that is needed. Through working in co-operation with the Local Education Partnership (LEP), our work will serve the city and its individual communities, to tailor what we are aiming to achieve to their specific needs.
We will be wholly flexible in our approach as we create the schools and facilities fit for the 21st century. These buildings will provide outstanding places for the seamless provision of education from the age of three to adult learning. We will create a host of solutions that are fully sustainable and that will benefit generations of the city's people.
