Hull Esteem Consortium is offering shoppers a chance to combine seeking out last-minute presents with a little festive pampering at a Christmas shopping evening in the week running up to Christmas.
The shopping event is to be held at the Hull Esteem Consortium offices, in The Exchange, an area designed for events and conferences in the city centre location, based on Alfred Gelder Street on Tuesday 20th December in order to raise money for Young Enterprise.
The Christmas shopping event will see local businesses gather under one roof to offer fancy goods, jewellery, handbags, festive chocolates and treats, flowers and beauty products. For an extra treat on the night, the public can indulge in a mini-Christmas pamper, with beauticians offering treatments including hand and nail pampering, which are available in pre-bookable slots.
Young Enterprise is a charity which has been involved with Hull Esteem Consortium in their efforts to team up with local organisations in support of the Building Schools for the Future programme. The charity work towards teaching young people about business in a practical way, and encourage entrepreneurship in people up to the age of 25.
The charity is running a competition entitled, 'Who Wants to be an £ntrepreneur?', based on the theme of the television series, The Apprentice, in which teams formed by businesses in the area must undergo a series of challenges spanning nine months.
The Christmas shopping event is Hull Esteem Consortium's team's effort to win the first challenge, to turn £100 into £1000 for the charity. The team hope the event will see the success of this by the money raised on the night of the event.
Hull Esteem Consortium's team consists of individuals from the organisation and colleagues from Hull City Council's BSF Team, along with individuals from supply chain partner, Claughtons, and pupils from Malet Lambert School, which is one of the schools currently undergoing redevelopment as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme.
The event will be held between 4-8pm on Tuesday 20th December at The Exchange, Wilberforce Court. Entry costs £1 and will go towards the efforts to raise £1000 for charity. Those wishing to attend or pre-book a beauty treatment should speak to Ann Newlove by contacting her by email ann.newlove@esteem.cc or calling 01482 330687.
