Kingswood College of Arts

Project Timeline

Kingswood College of Arts is a new school that will specialise in art. This will be shown through the inclusion of new art rooms, dedicated space for resistant materials, a theatre and the art plaza entrance to the school.

Designed with the 'King' part of Kingswood in mind, the building features a crown-like roof and comprises of one four-storey building. Large, multi-use learning spaces can be used by a variety of subjects, and dining spaces of each floor are provided to encourage a range of healthy eating.

Part of the Kingswood College of Arts development includes community facilities, which will provide:

  • ICT facilities
  • library
  • a creche
  • meeting rooms
  • fitness and activity areas
  • family centred services
  • Business Conference zone

A theatre, which will be designed in conjunction with experts from Hull Truck, will be housed in the school. This will provide space for school and community productions, as well as seminars and conferences, all managed by an onsite Box Office.
