Oakfield will move to a new building, becoming a beacon for the local community. Students will enter the building through a 'hub' - an open-plan area with a number of resources for students, as well as a comfortable seating area for students to relax and socialize.
The school's specialist teaching aspects include a science lab, a food bay and dedicated areas for woodwork, metalwork, art and ICT. These areas are situated adjacent to the internal courtyards, allowing for teaching to take place outdoors when required.
The school development also includes a gym and a multiuse Sports Hall, both of which will be available for use by the community after school hours.
There will also be a flood-lit, multi-use games area and football pitch in the school grounds for football, rugby, basketball and netball.
Part of the school will be available for use by staff and outside groups, including meeting rooms, therapy rooms and office accommodation, ensuring that the school will play a key part in bringing together the local community.
